We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Head of Construction Readiness to be involved in developing a global supply chain and creating opportunities for the wider industry
Reporting to the Supply Chain and Operations Director, this role is accountable for the construction readiness of RR SMR. This includes construction intelligent customer/client role definition and development of capability, developing repeatable constructability of power plant design in collaboration with engineering, site safety, construction site launch and mobilisation (including on site factory, off site construction product manufacture and logistics), construction management IT definition and implementation, site quality, regulatory and legal compliance (including CDM) and approach to testing and commissioning of infrastructure.
The Head of Construction Readiness is responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery, cost efficiency, and timely completion of the RR SMR in conjunction with our Programme Directors. This role will oversee all aspects of construction management, from initial planning through to final handover. It will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, architects, design and internal teams to deliver RR SMR while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
The role will oversee all aspects of construction planning and execution, from design to final delivery. They will determine the requirements for civils supply chain partners and participate in procurement. The role will work collaboratively to ensure accurate cost estimation and codify the construction management approach for a repeatable, standardised, modular build in multiple geographies.
This role will support in country delivery, monitor progress and identify potential risks related to project timelines, costs, and quality, and develop mitigation strategies in conjunction with the Programme Manager. The role will resolve any issues or disputes that arise with contractors, or internal teams in a timely and effective manner
Key Responsibilites:
- A construction management strategy that is credible and enables the supply chain to deliver our design
- Construction partner(s) to enact civils works for each plant, site and globally
- An end to end construction production system that codifies the build, test and commissioning of a RR SMR for any customer
- A collaborative approach with the customer, programme management and the supply chain that will deliver a RR SMR predictably, to cost and schedule
- A continuous improvement programme to improve the cost and lead time of each RR SMR
- A capable client/ intelligent customer construction management team
- Implementation of the above

Pay and Benefits
• Salary - £109,500 - £139,000 DoE
• A performance related target opportunity 25% Bonus
• An attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
