We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Head of Logistics, to be involved in developing a global supply chain and creating opportunities for the wider industry.
Reporting to the Supply Chain and Operations Director, this role is accountable for developing, evolving and implementing a logistics solution that will support the enterprise globally. It will include the physical logistics set up, freight management, logistics technology, software solutions and control of demand, inventory and supply in support of power plant build. The solution must take best practise from Manufacturing and adapt, apply and implement it across the value chain including manufacturing, construction and commissioning. Additionally the role will be responsible for developing the Rolls Royce aftermarket service offering in conjunction with other departments. This solution will then develop through the programme lifecycle to delivery, and continue to evolve as SMRs are deployed globally.
The Head of Logistics must ensure that all logistics functions ranging from warehousing, material handling, inventory control, and transportation to the final delivery run safely, efficiently and cost-effectively and leverage digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency, manage risk and provide supply chain visibility. The solution delivery will include developing requirements for, supporting procurement of and mobilising any third or fourth party providers to enable powerplant build in multiple geographies. The operational system must continuously monitor, assess and improve the efficiency and capability of the enterprise logistics and supply chain management solution.
The Head of Logistics will lead a team that will enact this scope and will grow to ensure that each powerplant is delivered to cost and schedule. They will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety standards, environmental regulations, and international trade laws. They will be RR SMR’s Subject Matter Expert on Logistics & Supply Chain and work with key stakeholders across other functions to ensure logistics is considered and optimised across power plant build, as a member of the relevant integrated project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- A logistics strategy that aligns with overall business objectives and supports end-to-end global logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and demand fulfilment.
- A physical logistics solution design that is efficient and effective across the supply chain from suppliers through manufacturing to powerplant construction and commissioning
- A supply chain management solution design that uses logistics and supply chain software to leverage data across the RR SMR network of suppliers and provides digital supply chain connectivity to enable visibility and management of all material flow either by Rolls Royce SMR or appointed third parties.
- An Integrated Business Planning process
- Working with procurement create a/ some 3PL/4PL partnership/s that will support power plant build and commissioning
- An aftermarket solution that will support power plant operations and generate revenue and margin for Rolls Royce SMR
- Implementation of all of the above through the programme lifecycle

• Salary - £105,500 - £135,000 DoE
• A performance related target opportunity 25% Bonus
