Role Title: Heat Exchanger Design Engineer

We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Heat Exchanger Design Engineer.
The Design Engineer - Heat Exchanger will work within the Plant Equipment team on the fully integrated technical solutions, maturity, programme, and governance, covering the scope of Heat Exchangers. The Design Engineer will conduct the design of multiple heat exchangers across the Rolls-Royce SMR power station, using the best available knowledge and technology to trade and meet highly challenging and complex requirements. The design will be governed via Rolls-Royce SMR Integrated Management System that combines all the policies, procedures, processes, standards to be delivered within agreed timeframe with the customers.
Key role responsibilities:
We are looking for demonstrable experience/knowledge of design, manufacture, operation, and maintenance of Heat Exchangers. Experience of the product lifecycle of Heat Exchangers is preferable to enable a potential to lead. Ideally the candidate has examples of product development, manufacture, verification and safety cases, demonstrating understanding of the project maturity stages and be able to apply that knowledge.
- Ability to communicate and build relationships
The role requires the candidate to communicate and build relationships with a large variety of stakeholders across the business, covering functions such as component design, system design, analysis, verification, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, programme management and business development. A part of the role is to interact with senior leadership, primarily within engineering but also across the different business functions, and will be capable of communicating with different levels of the business hierarchy.
- Programme development & delivery
The candidate shall be required to develop and manage engineering programmes for the defined scope of the role. This will include interacting with other teams delivering dependent activities to ensure progress is monitored and aligned with the integrated programme.
The candidate shall be required to manage high levels of ambiguity within the programme and work closely with the Manager - Heat Exchangers to provide control and direction.

This will include being willing to work in an ever changing and ambiguous environment, and remain flexible to the evolving needs of the business.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
The role requires the candidate to have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders, create a supporting working environment, and communicate up and down the business hierarchy internally and externally.
We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £52,500 DOE plus:-
· Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
· Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
· Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
· Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
· Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
· Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
· £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
