Engineer – Component Integration
Flexible hybrid location (UK based)
The Engineer – Component Integration will be embedded in the Component and Structural Integrity Integration Team for mechanical components.
They will work in a small team responsible to develop programmes to deliver on multiple fronts, ensuring success of the generic plant design but also supporting and leading on many site-specific product design activities, working with customers and supply chain on a truly global scale.
They will be responsible for delivering work in line with budgeted cost and programme requirements.
Key role criteria:
Application of Systems Engineering
Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and the ability to apply them to product development and delivery. Experience in requirements management:
- Understand principles behind design lifecycles and its relationship to iterative requirements development.
- Ability to assess the maturity of a requirement and its impact on component design.
- Ability to develop a good quality / verifiable product requirement from an ambiguous high level requirement, or propose the route for that decomposition.
Relevant Product design experience and capability
Product knowledge of equipment and/or products relevant to high integrity industries (e.g. nuclear, oil & gas):
- Pressure Vessel/Equipment design knowledge/experience and/or;
- Rotary equipment design knowledge/experience and/or;
- Thermal equipment design knowledge/experience and/or;
- Mechanical design / manufacture knowledge/experience and/or;
- Pipework and valves knowledge/experience and/or;
- General product development knowledge/experience.
Product Development
- Understanding of product design evaluations, product manufacture, testing or compliance.
- Experience in producing reports supporting design and justification.
- Experience of interpreting and applying codes and standards.
- Understanding of product verification and validation methods.
Planning, Coordination and Teamwork
- Experience with planning, scheduling, and coordinating your own work.
- Ability to define a strategy to solving a defined problem, for example identifying potential options and defining a route to select between those options.
- Ability to handle projects that have a high level of ambiguity, with ability to move forward despite many unknowns on a complex concurrent project.
- Supports the creation of an open, trusting, and welcoming work environment.
Ability to communicate and build relationships
The role requires the candidate to communicate and build relationships with a large variety of stakeholders across the business and externally.

We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £52,500 DOE plus:-
· Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
· Flexible hybrid location - full time or part time available
· Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
· Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
· Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.

· Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
· £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
