We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Operations Readiness Lead to be involved in a game changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Operations Readiness, the Operations Readiness Lead will provide support with a number of critical programmes of activity as part of our operations solution design phase, providing a detailed route to full operations readiness.
This role focusses on design, optimisation and delivery of Operations Readiness systems in-line with the Value Chain Production System, as well as providing an 'Operations Lens' to a number of activities cross-functionally. As the business matures and we launch in-house manufacturing, it is envisaged the incumbent will apply their skills to organisation and operational efficiency to help Rolls Royce SMR achieve its goal of clean, affordable energy for all.
What we are look for
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies and applying CI tools to extract business performance improvements covering areas such as safety, quality, cost, delivery, performance.
- Ability to define, plan and monitor projects, demonstrating strong project management skills.
- Experience in complex manufacturing environment, involvement in launch of new products and problem solving skills.
- Ability to integrate with cross-functional teams both internal and external whilst demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Resilience to changing priorities and ambitious requirements.
- Ability to present material to senior stakeholders confidentially.
- Facilitate conversations via cross-functional teams with projects and improvement activities, driving results through commitments and deadlines
- Experience within a world class manufacturing discipline such as Aerospace, Automotive, Pharma or major projects i.e. infrastructure projects
- Applying Continuous Improvement tools to solve Operational challenges.

- Pay and benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
