Role Title : Capability Engineer - Process Development

We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Capability Engineer - Process Development to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
In the role of Capability Engineer - Governance and Process, you will join the team responsible for ensuring that our colleagues across the engineering directorate, regardless of specialism, have processes and instructions that are comprehensive, efficient, accessible and integrated. Your role will be to:
- Undertake detailed requirements capture with a diverse range of stakeholders, to understand their needs and ensure process updates consider all use cases.
- Undertake impact assessment of change.
- Author and deliver process and guidance updates, ranging from minor wording amendments to the controlled implementation of new processes which are fully integrated.
- Identify, author and deliver templates to capture the information/data generated.
- Provide clear communication of updates to affected stakeholders including the provision of training material where required.
- Undertake Industry benchmarking and cross sector engagement.

For this role you wil be expected to:
1. Establish a Robust Feedback Loop:
Regularly scheduled stakeholder meetings are conducted to gather feedback.
Feedback forms and surveys are effectively utilised to collect stakeholder input.
A tracking system for feedback and subsequent actions is implemented and maintained.
2. Review and Consolidate Stakeholder Requirements:
Stakeholder workshops or focus groups are held to gather and understand requirements.
Requirements are prioritised based on their impact and feasibility.
Conflicting requirements are managed and resolved through negotiation and consensus-building.
3. Produce Clear and Concise Context and Guidance Material:
User-friendly documentation and guides are created and distributed.
Visual aids such as flowcharts and diagrams are used to explain processes.
Training sessions are conducted to ensure stakeholders understand the processes.
4. Define and Deliver Formal Information Capture:
Standardised templates for data collection are developed and implemented.
Templates are designed to be user-friendly and accessible.
Staff are trained on the consistent use of these templates.
5. Propose and Gain Agreement for Appropriate Metrics:
Key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the processes are identified.
Metrics are discussed and agreed upon with stakeholders.
Metrics are regularly reviewed and adjusted as necessary.

Each Rolls-Royce SMR power station will have the capacity to generate 470MW of low carbon energy, equivalent to more than 150 onshore wind turbines and enough to power a million homes. It will provide consistent baseload generation for at least 60 years, helping to support the roll out of renewable generation and overcome intermittency issues
