We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Systems Design Engineer to be involved in a game changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.
The candidate will be a professional engineer in the field of nuclear fluid system / process system design with a strong proven record of delivering complex design programmes.
The role will require engagement and collaboration with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the scope is progressed in accordance with all applicable requirements at all business levels.
The Senior Design Engineer will use their knowledge, skills and experience to support and coach members of their team to achieve the desired outcomes, whilst influencing other colleagues across the broader reactor design team.
Key Selection Criteria:
Nuclear industry domain knowledge including:
· Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) design, plant and behaviour.
· Reactor plant operations, philosophy and procedures.
Systems engineering essentials, including:
· Systems engineering tools and techniques (e.g. functional modelling, Function Means Analysis (FMA), decision analysis), concept generation, assessment and selection.
· Requirements development (including development of structured Requirements, Evidence, Definition and Verification (REDV) data and information) and management.
· Functional interface development and management.
Nuclear reactor systems design and operational knowledge including Relevant Good Practice (RGP) in:
· Nuclear steam raising systems including duty, safety and containment systems.
· Waste systems including Liquid waste treatment system, Gaseous waste treatment systems, solid waste treatment, and storage and disposal practices.
System design development including:
· Development and management of design requirements.
· Process equipment sizing and specification.
· Fluid flow calculations.
· Generation of system operating principles.
· Generation of design documentation (P&IDs, design reports, definition documents).
• Salary - £40,000 - £52,500
• A performance related bonus of up to 12.5%,
• An attractive pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
