We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Engineer - Engineering Enterprise Tools , to be involved in industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
The Engineering Capability team works across the Rolls-Royce SMR engineering function and wider business, ensuring effective systems are defined, deployed and configured suiting the business now, and for future growth.
Our Engineering Enterprise Systems – predominantly Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Requirements Management (RM) software is essential to us developing and configuring our product design and ensuring safe, compliant control of our engineering data. These systems are the single source of truth for much of our information and are key to maintaining the digital thread for technical data. We are pushing the use of these systems beyond traditional boundaries in order that we can efficiently build a full power plant.
The Senior Engineer – Engineering Enterprise Tools will be focussed on identifying engineering need to help us guide technical deployment of PLM and RM systems, be responsible for communications on these topics within engineering and guiding business change. Candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of PLM systems, have an awareness of the types of engineering data that needs to be mastered in these systems and preferably have worked in a regulated engineering environment.
The role will need to interface externally to Rolls-Royce SMR, to identify wider-industry best-practice to adopt. Internally, this role will lead the engineering functions interaction and understanding of PLM systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide the development of our PLM solution, collating business need and influencing to provide business support to deployment where required.
- Communicate with the business regarding upcoming developments and best practice in engaging with our PLM tools, including running super user communities.
- Understand data flows and interfaces across our toolsets and work with the IT function to enable appropriate integrations.
- Develop our understanding of how PLM enables the digital thread, being a key stakeholder in business wide initiatives to enhance data clarity, visibility and integration.
- Work with the whole ecosystem of toolsets which maintain and configure our digital thread to ensure integration and clear path for product data through the lifecycle.

Each Rolls-Royce SMR power station will have the capacity to generate 470MW of low carbon energy, equivalent to more than 150 onshore wind turbines and enough to power a million homes.
