We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Structural Analysis Manager - Pipe Stress to be involved in a game changing role as we strive to make the nuclear industry more diverse.

The purpose of this role is to provide managerial leadership and technical oversight for the ASME-based assessment and substantiation of power station pipework. The role ensures the integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance of nuclear critical components by leading a team of engineers in the structural evaluation of primary and secondary circuit pipework under static and transient loading conditions. The role requires collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver high-quality outputs on time while driving technical excellence, optimising resource use, and fostering continuous improvement in methodologies and processes.

The key responsibilities for this role are to:

  • Technical Leadership: Act as a technical leader with significant domain knowledge and experience, guiding the delivery of structural integrity assessments and ensuring alignment with wider power station requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Lead integration with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., supply chain, programme management, commercial, manufacturing, verification) to support holistic design and assessment processes.
  • Governance & Assurance: Accountable for the quality of the team’s outputs, ensuring appropriate governance, assurance, and adherence to business processes.
  • Programme Delivery & Resource Management: Develop and manage robust cross-functional product development and delivery programmes, including accountability for assigned budgets, resource allocation, and delivery performance.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and develop a team of Senior Engineers and Engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and support in line with the Senior Manager’s requirements.
  • Strategic Planning: Play a key role in setting the team's approach, anticipating future project needs, and ensuring the team is well-prepared for upcoming demands.
  • Objective Setting & Performance Management: Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support development activities aligned with department objectives within Components and Mechanical Equipment.
  • Scope Definition & Activity Planning: Define the team’s scope of work and collaborate with Senior Engineers to plan, prioritise, and manage technical activities.
  • Intelligent Customer Oversight: Act as an Intelligent Customer, overseeing the performance of subcontractors and ensuring the quality and alignment of external deliverables.
  • Departmental Leadership: Act as a key leader within the Components and Mechanical Equipment department, promoting leadership behaviours and advocating for departmental goals and values.
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management: Lead and support change initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous learning, flexibility, and technical improvement.
  • Technical Guidance for Pipework Stress Assessment: Provide technical direction and support to ASME pipework assessments for both primary and secondary side pipework, and connection to associated pressure vessels.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on technical progress, challenges, and strategic decisions related to component integrity.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with component integrity, ensuring timely intervention and corrective actions where required.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements, supporting external audits and regulatory engagements as needed.
